When I make this recipe now, I just weigh the flour which comes out to 11 3/8 ounces. I always use the fluff, spoon and sweep method for measuring flour which gives me a cup of flour weighing 4.25 ounces. If there was no accident with those ingredients, then the only thing I could think is you may have over measured the flour. I made that mistake once when I was measuring ingredients for 5 different batches of cookies at once and completely messed up on the butter because all of the other recipes I was following were in "sticks" not cups.
COCOA COOKIE MINT CHOCO COOKIE FULL
I know it sounds crazy, but sometimes a 1/2 cup of butter can be mistaken for 1/2 stick instead of a full stick. I assume you got all of the other ingredients measured properly especially the eggs and butter. The batter should definitely not be dry looking.

Hi Annie, I know it's an uncommon way to add flour, but it's always worked fine for me. Recipe from the bag of Andes Crème de Menthe Baking Chips This ingredient (Andes mint chips) is probably the only exception I ever make to that rule, just once a year, because I haven't yet tried to reformulate the recipe with other ingredients that will give me the same flavor and texture. We don't buy or eat anything with hydrogenated fats, at least that we're aware of anyway. *(Spoiler Alert! ) You've often seen me purposefully avoid anything with hydrogenated fats. *Store in an airtight container at room temperature up to 3 days, freeze up to 3 months. *They don't usually carry the chips in my regular grocery stores but Target always seems to carry them. I don't notice a major change in flavor, but I do like the slightly deeper color when I use dark brown sugar. *I used light brown sugar this time because I was out of dark brown. So I divided each scoop in half and then rolled those into balls, which accounts a bit for their uniform round shape. *I chose to roll the dough into balls, mostly because I scooped out larger portions (2T) and then remembered I wanted to make smaller cookies. It's quite strange, but you can do it in one bowl and it works, so just go with it. *The directions do not follow your typical cream the butter and sugar first process.
